Who’s in the market for a good pair of boots? How about some really nice, durable work boots? Or perhaps some hiking boots?

If you’re looking for a good pair of boots, go look around “Work Boots USA,” a site that specializes in work boots, but offers a nice variety of boots for work, casual, and outdoor “play” such as hiking and camping with your favorite pet.

Don’t just take my word for it. Go to Work Boots USA and take a look around for yourself. They’ve got some nice boots in stock of all sorts at some good prices.

For several months now, I have been blogging part of the time for advertisers who want their useful products or useful websites highlighted on — blogs.

Most recently, I’ve found out about a social networking website for bloggers who want to “monetize” their blogs. It’s called SocialSpark, and that sort of describes the site and the blogging opportunities they offer.

In addition to matching advertisers with qualified and interested bloggers, Social Spark makes “community” possible as advertisers and bloggers share their thoughts and goals with each other, seeking a better “fit” for both.

All this is done in professional fashion, not in some sort of “no-holds-barred” mix of wheeling and dealing. The Social Spark people police the operation carefully. Each blogger and each advertiser using the Social Spark network is required to uphold a code of ethics that includes in-post disclosures and honest opinions and reviews. I am personally very impressed by their “100% Transparency” policy for bloggers and advertisers, which reads:

“Every participant in SocialSpark is made viewable to the public. The public can also see which bloggers are working with which advertisers on which opportunities. This is designed to keep the community honest and open about the transactions that occur. If you don’t want someone to know you are doing business with a particular advertiser or blogger, chances are you should reconsider.”

So if you blog, and if you’ve been looking for ways to make steady income from your blogging, I would highly recommend Social Spark. Go take a careful look around. You’re not required to join, you can choose to “lurk” their forums, read their company blog, and carefully evaluate Social Spark. It could be just what you’ve been looking for!

This is a bit of a blatant “plug” for one of the pet supply merchants I partner with — Pet Supplies at 24KCloseout.com. They sell pet treats — actually the sell a ton of other stuff if you take a look around — and they sell those treats in quantity at very reasonable prices.

So here’s what I thought about and why I’m posting about this website: Many animal shelters nationwide right now are feeling a real strain on their resources, due to weather related disasters, due to pets abandoned by people who’ve lost their homes, due to a huge number of issues we’ve read and shared here and that you’ve seen elsewhere.

Why not buy a carton or box of pet food, pet treats, pet toys, etc., and donate them to your local animal shelter? I doubt any animal shelter in the country would turn down the gesture.

Think about it. Take a look around the website I’ve linked you to above, and see what you can do. If you’re not interested or able, or you don’t think my “share with your shelter” idea is something you want to do, that’s okay, too. Maybe you’ll find some good pet supply stuff you’d like for your own pets from this truly useful website.

If you travel much and like to take local tours, if you’re looking for family vacation ideas, here’s a useful website for you — Trusted Tours & Attractions, with fun things to do in America’s major cities, whether you’re looking for a personalized tour of the San Diego zoo, or a bus tour through the boroughs of New York City.

I plan soon to take advantage of all the things to do in New York which you can discover at their website. I can’t think of New York without thinking about a crazy experience I had their a few years ago. Well, not really “crazy,” just one of those bizarre things where life almost imitates the TV sit-com stereotypes. Yes, it was a New York City taxi ride. I was headed into mid-town Manhattan from La Guardia airport. It was my first time in the city and until then all I knew was what I learned through TV and movies. The cabbie, true to stereotype, spoke very poor English and drove wildly. On one occasion, he simply took to the right-hand shoulder of the road for about half a mile to get around a traffic jam on the expressway. Took my breath away. But the “punchline” to my story came two days later. I was walking up to an intersection in mid-town when a taxi came screeching around the corner, right-turning in front of me. I stopped short and was safe — and when the taxi came to a stop there was a loud BANG as his front tire blew out. When the driver got out, yes, it was the same guy who had brought me in from the airport.

Moral to the story: When you travel to New York City, take advantage of the Trusted Tours & Attractions people whenever you can to get around town, of course.

Currently, Trusted Tours & Attractions is offering chances to win an iPod “Nano” if you sign up for their “eNewsletter.” I subscribe to that eNewsletter myself and enjoy the travel information and news they send out. Please note — the iPod “Nano” drawing offer ends Monday, March 31st, 2008, so get over there and sign up in time to get in on the drawing!

I’ll bet you’ve heard a lot of jokes based on the habits many dogs have of lifting their legs at statues, figurines, light poles, etc.? And, of course, we all know what pigeons and other birds often do to public statues, right?

All such pet and animal jokes aside, if you have a nice yard and/or garden, here’s a “Useful Website” for beautiful imported marble statues to turn your property into the talk of the neighborhood. (By “talk,” I mean good things, of course.) The website itself is beautiful and decorative. It belongs to “Marble Unique,” and it gives you quick access to everything from statues to figurines to marble mantles and marble or stone fireplaces. They even offer some gorgeous outdoor fountains to grace and add value to your property.

Take a look around this beautiful website if you’re looking for display pieces which will add value and beauty to your home.

Traveling with pets and trying to book San Francisco hotels? How about a bed and breakfast in the Boston area? Or perhaps something in London, Paris, or Rome?

If you travel much, or if you’re simply making plans for a vacation trip, here’s a “Useful Website” you need to take a look at — TravelHero.com. It could make you a hero with your family, AND your pets.

The site name, “TravelHero,” is a clue — this website offers links to help you with hotel reservations, car reservations, and they even offer special travel and vacation deals. I tested their search function and discovered that, if you click on the link for advanced searches, you separate out lodging, for example, with such details as “non-smoking,” and “pets allowed.”

So if you’re traveling, and your pets are coming with you, go to TravelHero.com and check out all the resources they have to offer. Your pets may thank you for it later.

I’m not sure yet whether these guys with this evening’s “Useful Website” have a dealership near us, but they may have one near you — B-DrySystem, Incorporated. That’s the name of the company, the website is The B-Dry® System.

This system provides guaranteed basement waterproofing, with a network of more than 60 trained dealers nationwide. Their waterproofing system has been seen on national TV news features. According to the website, the B-Dry® System rests on more than 50 years experience and has waterproofed more than 200,000 homes nationwide.

I see from their website that the whole process covers draining and drying, repairing, and sealing everything from wall leaks to floor leaks. They even work on homes as they are being built to assure sealed and secure basement and foundation areas from start to finish.

If you have basement water or flooding issues, you need to take a close look at this website. If you have no such issues — take it from those of us who are dealing with soggy homes and possessions right now, you can count yourself fortunate!

I’ve found that pet lovers are a pretty fun, and social, bunch of people. They love pet shows, and people parties, and other events that draw crowds.

Suppose you’re planning a big event and find that you need a California event planner to help with all the details and timing involved. Who are you gonna call? NOT “Ghostbusters.” (For those of you not old enough to catch the lame humor in that, it refers to a wildly popular 1980s movie. Ask your parents.)

If your big event is anywhere near San Francisco, so much the better, because “Innovative Entertainment” is located there — but don’t let their location hamper your interest. Since their founding in 1983, Innovative Entertainment has worked hard to become one of the premier corporate and group event planners in the world. According to their website, they specialize in “corporate event planning, event management, theme parties, dance bands, theatrical productions, interactive entertainers and games, environmental entertainment, virtual reality, as well as major headline entertainers.”

So if you’re in need of a quality event planner with staff and expertise to handle just about anything you have in mind, you should go to their website and take a look around.

I’m personally not a golfer, but always thought I’d like to get started at it. But if you’re a golfer, and if you’ve ever been to Las Vegas or wanted to go there, this “Useful Website” for the morning is just what you’re looking for — “Las Vegas Golf Authority.”

This site offers everything you’ll need to customize your very own Las Vegas golf holidays, from information on Las Vegas’ world class golf courses to accommodations at the city’s many fine hotels. You’ve got to love a golf site for Las Vegas with a slogan like theirs: “Don’t Gamble with Your Golf in Las Vegas.”

This website itself is beautiful, and it tells you everything you need to know and gives you the necessary links — web links, I mean — to plan and reserve everything for your golfing pleasure in Las Vegas.

Imagine this scenario: You’ve been invited to show off your latest video presentations about your twin Weimaraners at your city’s biggest Weimaraners Are Us chapter meeting. You get there, the assembled guests numbering in the hundreds are eagerly watching as you start the presentation. Suddenly, the screen goes dark — because the bulb has burned out in the club’s digital projector. After a frantic search through the clubhouse and auditorium, the chapter leader has to apologize to you and explain the presentation can’t be done. You leave with a heavy heart. All because your Weimaraners Are Us chapter leader failed to keep spare high quality discount projector lamps on hand.

Okay, perhaps that’s a bit far-fetched, and perhaps you don’t even have a Weimaraner, and I’m sure there is no such organization as Weimaraners Are Us (is there??). But this “Useful Website” for the afternoon really does exist — “Presentationmart.com, a great place to go for LCD and DLP business projectors, projector replacement lamps, projector cases, projector mounts, or any other projector accessories. If you need to project digital for any classroom or group setting, you need to take a look around this website. (By the way, I know of at least one church I’ve attended who did face something of a problem when their digital projector broke down right in the middle of their main Sunday morning service. So if you’re involved in church presentations and have need of a projector or quality projector lamp …)

And if you happen to also be a dog lover in the market for a beautiful, majestic, gentle pet, you could do a lot worse than a wonderful Weimaraner.
